World Harmonica Festival 2025 – The world of harmonica comes to Trossingen

    12 September, 2025

    October 29th - November 2nd 2025

From 29 October to 2 November 2025, Trossingen will once again be all about the harmonica. The World Harmonica Festival (WHF), organised by HOHNER Musikinstrumente GmbH, brings together the international scene and is considered the most important event of its kind worldwide.
Every four years, several thousand guests from all continents travel to the traditional music city to exchange ideas, make music, compete against each other and celebrate the fascination of the instrument together. The festival is particularly popular in Asia, where the harmonica scene has an above-average number of very talented followers.
The last WHF in 2021 had to be held online and in a reduced form due to the pandemic. Accordingly, this year a particularly large number of musicians, ensembles and fans from countries such as China, Japan, Taiwan and Korea are expected – many of them with impressive competition entries and programme items.

The festival programme combines competitions, workshops, exhibitions and concerts:

    •    Registration for the competitions is now closed – as usual, interest was overwhelming.
    •    However, workshops can still be booked. Renowned international lecturers share their knowledge, from playing techniques for beginners to masterclasses for professionals.
    •    In the evenings, the legendary festival concerts take place, transforming Trossingen into a vibrant concert stage for a few days. The repertoire ranges from classical music to jazz and blues to traditional and modern world music.

In addition to its musical diversity, the World Harmonica Festival is also a place of encounter: generations and cultures meet here, where people make music, talk shop and celebrate. For Trossingen, the festival not only means an influx of international visitors, but also a vivid reminder of the town's more than 165-year-old harmonica tradition.
