Worldrecord at the WHF

One of the most distinctive features of the harmonica is the fact that it can produce chords. Several harmonica players have been using the circular breathing technique for a while in order to be able to play longer chords, both blowing and drawing; some for musical purposes, others to reach a meditative state or to accompany sound meditations.
It is a fact that learning this technique can also help improve your breathing skills when playing harmonica. As part of the 10th World Harmonica Festival, Quim Roca will make the first attempt ever at setting a World Record on the Longest Harmonica Chord.
He will use a non-customized harmonica of his choice and he will blow or draw on a chord continuously for as long as he can. It’s that simple! Two judges appointed by the WHF will make sure he follows all the rules set by the organization.
This event will take place
Saturday, November 1st 2025, 1:00 PM
at the German Harmonica Museum, in Trossingen,
and it will also be broadcasted on-line at Hohner’s YouTube channel.
