HOHNER Introduces the Altair di Cagnoni a Mano Reed to the Anacleto Collection
12 October, 2026
Mount Juliet, TN, USA, October 12, 2026...Hohner Accordions announces the launch of the Altair di Cagnoni a Mano reed, a premium handmade reed developed in close collaboration with the Cagnoni Italian reed factory. Produced outside of the factory’s standard manufacturing lines and created exclusively for the Hohner Anacleto Collection, the Altair reflects a shared dedication to performance-driven design and long-term musical integrity.
The Altair represents the latest milestone in a partnership that began in 2011 with a clearly defined purpose: to move beyond conventional market standards and focus on sound, build quality, and longevity rather than short-term cost considerations. This philosophy remains central to the identity of the Anacleto Collection today.
The Altair di Cagnoni a Mano is entirely handmade and individually voiced and finished by experienced craftsmen. Designed for musicians with the highest performance expectations, it delivers exceptional responsiveness and consistency.
Compared to standard finished reeds, the Altair a Mano offers:
- Increased projection
- Faster response
- A broader, more authoritative tonal presence
These characteristics are most evident in dynamic playing situations, where articulation, consistency, and strength across the register are essential.
“I’ve been working closely with the factory to develop a solution that offers a truly premium reed with the sound projection artists are asking for,” said Gilbert Reyes, Hohner Accordion Brand Manager. “The Altair a Mano delivers power and presence while maintaining control and musicality.”
This development underscores Hohner’s continued focus on tonal excellence, durability, and player feedback, while preserving the unique character and positioning of each instrument within the Anacleto Collection.
The transition to the Altair di Cagnoni a Mano reed will occur gradually throughout 2026 and into 2027.
