"Hohner’s unique sound is unbeatable"

At Dwayne’s home the favorite music genre was Tex Mex. Dwayne grew up with it since the very first day. When it turned out that he also had the talent to play the accordion at a high level, things were quite easy.

Dwayne Verheyden played Tex Mex with Flaco Jiménez as his great example. In 2007, at the age of 16, he won the 'Sjeng', an award for the most prominent Limburg accordionist of that year. Shortly afterwards, he got on stage for the first time with his idol Flaco Jiménez and from then on things went quickly.

Dwayne founded his own band and regularly tours in the US and Mexico to play with the best artists of the genre. Among others with Flaco Jiménez, Los Lobos, The Mavericks, Texas Tornados etc. In the meantime, his band has become popular in the Netherlands and in large parts of Europe.

In 2014, recognition followed in the US by winning the Tejano Music Award for “Best New Artist – Group”. Two years later, Dwayne was appointed as a tourist ambassador for Nuevo Léon, Mexico in Mexico for promoting their music in Europe. In recent years, Verheyden has released a lot of his own work, which has been very well received by his audience!
